1 A person who does not belong to a particular organization or profession.
1.1 A person who is not accepted by or who isolates themselves from society.
2 A competitor, applicant, etc. thought to have little chance of success.

misfit (noun):
1 A person whose behaviour or attitude sets them apart from others in an uncomfortably conspicuous way.
1.1 Something that does not fit or that fits badly.
